TU plans to build behind Alabama Road in Southland Hills

Dear West Towson Neighbor,

I’m writing to inform you of an important meeting this Thursday evening, March 24, 2011, regarding Towson University’s plans for a new Public Safety Building on our side of Towsontown Boulevard – on the property behind Alabama Road in Southland Hills.  The West Towson Neighborhood Association has voted to support Southland Hills in opposing the project, which calls for a very large additional building (appx. 20,000 sf) that would house all public safety personnel, including the TU Police, and all operations and maintenance personnel and vehicles for the university.  Our friends and neighbors to the south would appreciate any support they can get at Thursday’s meeting and for their opposition.  Regardless of whether you believe that the project will have a direct impact on West Towson, it is likely to adversely impact the housing values and forever disturb the peace and quiet in Southland Hills, which isn’t good for any of us.

Here are the details:

Date: Thursday, March 24, 2011
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Minnegan Room, Unitas Stadium Field House
Parking: Available in Lot 20 on Auburn Drive (immediately across from the meeting room)

Sincerely,
Josh Glikin
President, WTNA
