Pickleball anyone?

You may have noticed construction at the Dinosaur Park over the past few weeks. We are happy to announce that the combination pickleball / basketball courts at the Dinosaur Park are being resurfaced. Anyone who has been near the Dinosaur Park recently has noticed the skyrocketing popularity of these courts for pickleball. This pickleball traffic is in addition to the court’s popularity for basketball, tag, and other games.

Despite the court being tar patched several years ago, the Baltimore County Department of Parks and Rec will patch, acrylic coat, and color coat the court. The basketball hoops are also scheduled to be replaced to allow for 2 full basketball courts.

We owe a thank you to our former Board president, Todd Unger, and County Councilman Mike Ertel for their effort to collaborate with the Department of Parks and Rec to prioritize the project. This effort will ensure that the courts serve our neighborhood pickleball enthusiasts, aspiring basketball players, and afterschool roller skaters.

The Board has been in contact with the Baltimore Country Director of Parks and Recreation to share excitement and concerns about how this project will make our neighborhood a more attractive attractive sports destination. We’ll continue to engage our officials to ensure that residents continue to maintain a high quality of life despite any anticipated traffic spikes. Please be on the look out for a letter from our Board President, Bill Smith, which will expand on this topic or contact us if you have thoughts about this update.
